eziFunerals clients can now for the first time, appoint one or more funeral guardians to carry out your funeral wishes, in the event of your death.

eziFunerals is pleased to announce a new feature on Australia’s only funeral planning platform that connects consumers with Independent Funeral Homes Australia wide including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Darwin and Canberra.

Why is this important?

eziFunerals supports consumers to plan a funeral in order to reduce the stress family and friends face at a time of intense grief.

However, although many people have very strong and specific wishes as to the nature and conduct of their funeral, they won’t be around to know if those wishes are carried out.

This is where the appointment of Funeral Guardians play an important role in ensuring your wishes are carried out.

What are ‘Funeral Guardians’?

Funeral Guardians are people you designate to be notified upon your death and execute your advance funeral planning wishes. Whereas a will sets out how you want your property and possessions to be divided after your death, eziFunerals innovative funeral planning platform links your personal funeral plan with your nominated Funeral Guardian.

How many Funeral Guardians can you choose?

You may choose one or more Funeral Guardians to administer your Funeral Planning wishes.

How do Funeral Guardians access your funeral plan?

Once you choose you’re Funeral Guardians, they will be sent an email where they can accept or decline your request. If they accept, they are sent an email and are asked to store this in a safe place. Upon your death, they will be required to produce a Medical Certificate of Death. Once your death has been confirmed, your account will be unlocked to access your funeral plan.

Can Funeral Guardians access your funeral plan before your death?

Funeral Guardians who accept your request will be sent an email with a link to your account. Unless you share your account details, they can only access your account upon your death.

Can you change Funeral Guardians?

Clients should choose their Funeral Guardians wisely. They should be people you can trust with personal information. If a relationship changes with one of your Funeral Guardians in a negative way, you should remove them from your account.

Start planning your funeral today and appoint a Funeral Guardian to carry out your wishes the way you always wanted.
