Northern Beaches Funerals
About Us
Northern Beaches Funerals is expertly led by Kathryn Booth. With a willingness to clearly and gently explain each element of funeral care , her broad knowledge of the industry will guide you through every step of what can be a bewildering process.
We are able to take your loved one into our care, day or night, when time comes , giving you some breathing space and precious time before you have to dive into decisions and arrangements.
As an independent Funeral Director, we provide very flexible, transparent and open funeral care at a cost that is fair, and that you are comfortable with.
After providing you with an initial quote , we will come to your home (or wherever you feel most comfortable) , to gently and clearly explain your options , without any obligation whatsoever.
We can assist and support you to hold the funeral in many different locations - in a church, at a surf club, at a cemetery , in your own home or one of the many beautiful venues available.
We are happy to work with all religions and religious ministers, or to create an entirely secular (non religious) ceremony of love, respect and remembrance.
Customer Reviews
Hi Kathryn, On behalf of everyone, I would like to thank the staff in attendance yesterday in particular yourself for the fantastic service. Your well educated, professional and kind nature had everyone at ease. As I have previously mentioned to you if you recall, I was confident in recommending you to my family based off of our initial conversation over the phone. It was a beautiful, simple, respectful service, just as everyone wanted. Thank you for taking the time to write and read my grandfathers eulogy and representing him in an accurate manner. My mum called me yesterday night letting me know how happy she was with everything. Again, thank you to you and your team. Kind Regards, Dennis
Hi Kathryn, Thank you so much for this information and for calling me earlier today. I really wish I had known about you before we arranged everything with the provider we signed with. In fact, I knew my step dad was close to dying so just called the company that had looked after mum so well many years ago. I did not ask prices – I just arranged everything and my brothers were a little upset that I had not done more research or even asked prices. I really like your philosophy and practicality and we could have saved a fortune. I am keeping your email in case I ever need you in the future. Yours sincerely, Amanda
Hi Kathryn, Thank you for such a lovely farewell to Dad / George last week. Having had some time to get over the emotional exhaustion of the day, we have all commented on what a wonderful sense of peace and closure we are all feeling following the ceremony. I have no doubt that Dad would have enjoyed his farewell and I’m very appreciative of the way in which you led us through the ceremony. Thanks You. Peter M
A day after my father passed away, I found a note he’d left requesting a private memorial by an independent funeral operator. He’d attached an article written by Kathryn several years ago. I called, and Kathryn visited me that evening; it felt like an old friend had come to take control and get things organised. It was such a relief in an otherwise distressing time. Covid restrictions meant the dates and details had to be juggled, but nothing was a problem for Kathryn. The memorial was 2.5 hours away and when we arrived a beautiful marquee and table of momentos had been set up. Kathryn took the trouble to find out about dad’s life and organised a beautiful service to fit his personality. Her fees are very reasonable, but her genuine caring and passion to get things right are priceless. I cannot recommend Kathryn highly enough. Karen, Mona Vale
Dear Kathryn, I have been meaning to message you in thanks for all your support, care and generosity of spirit. I remember your advice, that J and B should not be rushed and must be consulted in all the decision making. It was so very important, and has clearly helped them in making peace with the world to date, and dealing with their loss on their own terms and in their own special ways. Again, thank you for your calm and inclusive support to us all. Your direction and presence fostered family unity and goodwill, making a deeply sad time one to lovingly remember. Warm regards, K, Bilgola
Dear Kathryn, On behalf of my dad, my brother and myself, we would like to thank you for your tremendous work in helping us create a beautiful and fitting farewell for our mum. The burial and memorial ceremonies were all as we had hoped and the feedback from everyone who attended was unanimous. It was elegant, stylish and heartfelt, just as Stojanka would have liked. I would also like to pass on compliments from our family overseas. All mum's four sisters watched the ceremonies live and they were all blown away and deeply touched. Even though they could not understand English, they all commented on what a lovely person you were and how engrossed you were in the proceedings as if a family member. I think your compassion and empathy is rare and is aptly suited for the work you do, which is very important. We are so very glad we chose you and Northern Beaches Funerals. Thank you again for being there with us in those difficult moments. Sincerely, Family Marko., Dee Why
