As the number of deaths in Australia increases each year, so too does the number of funeral businesses. There are now an estimated 900 funeral businesses in Australia, with the industry employing approximately 7,600 people. This does not include many third-party services. Although funeral businesses were traditionally structured around family-owned and operated private companies, this has changed since the 1990’s. InvoCare Limited is also one of Australia’s largest suppliers of pre-paid funeral plans.
