Why go past your local funeral director?

There is something special about supporting local communities across the Sutherland Shire, Greater Western Sydney, Wollongong and Central Coast areas, says Stephanie Kelly, Owner of Personal Farewells.

While personal farewells are still important, one thing that COVID-19 has taught us is that we need to support each other. We understood the difficulties that grieving families were going through with funeral restrictions. So we found new ways for families to reflect, connect, and pay their respects to someone very special in their lives. For example, we shifted away from traditional chapel and church services and introduced live streaming so that families could still have a meaningful service with their closest family and friends.

We were also able to personal farewells with many of our funeral services now conducted in special locations such as the beautiful Audley Dance Hall in the Royal National Park, the stunning Wanda Surf Club in Cronulla, Club Menai, and Gledswood Homestead in Camden. Families can even celebrate the life of their loved one with a Memorial Service at local clubs, restaurants, pubs, function halls and even in the solitude of their own homes. Whatever the family wants, we try to make it happen.

At Personal Farewells, we believe “First impressions last”

It’s not necessarily about the cost that makes our funerals special, it’s all about the service. It’s the little things that matter, it’s about the genuine care and compassion that we provide our families and loved ones.

From your first phone call to personal farewells, you will find that we are different from the big funeral chains. We feel strongly that customer care is not something you receive from a fancy website, a sponsored Google or Facebook Ad, or the cheapest funeral package – it’s from that first phone call with your local funeral director. We listen! We make sure you receive all the information and guidance so that your personal needs are met. We spend time to build your trust and we do our best to work with you so you can make informed decisions at each step of the funeral process.
